At our school, instructors are not only experienced martial artists. They also embody the values of kungfu and are characterised by personal integrity and deep commitment. To be recognised as an instructor, a minimum of one year's full-time training at our school is required. This intensive training represents a special dedication to our integrated training programme and the principles of the school. Upon successful completion, graduates are able to pass on their knowledge, live the school's philosophy and pass on the martial art in their own form. Whether in teaching, personal development or in new projects, our trainers stand for quality and responsibility in their approach to kungfu.
Arvid Leon Veltkamp
Arvid Leon Veltkamp is the first trainer to be officially authorised by Master An Jian Qiu to teach Baji Quan. He has dedicated himself to the study and practice of this style for many years and is now the leading teacher in the system. Between 2014 and 2016, Arvid lived in China for two consecutive years and trained daily under the guidance of An Jian Qiu.
He has a Master's degree in Chinese Studies and is intensively involved with Chinese language, culture, politics and society. He combines his passion for martial arts with a solid academic background. In Berlin, he taught Baji Quan and self-defence in the Boxbude for four years. In 2015, he won the International Wushu Championship in Beijing in the Baji Quan discipline.
He also gained practical fighting experience by working as a bouncer and security guard in well-known Berlin clubs. There he learnt to apply and refine techniques in real-life situations. These experiences flow into his lessons and make him a reflective and competent teacher who teaches martial arts not only physically, but also culturally and mentally.
Jacob Bartoletti
Jacob Bartoletti is a Swedish martial artist based in São Paulo. He runs the Tangshou Academy, where he teaches Bagua Zhang, Xing Yi Quan, Taiji and Karate. His journey began in Sweden, where he learnt traditional karate from Sensei Per-Ola Olsson as a child. Over the years, he trained with various masters in China and Japan, developing a broad repertoire of techniques and styles.
For one year, Jacob trained full-time in China under the direct guidance of Master An Jian Qiu. During this time he focussed particularly on Bagua Zhang and Xing Yi Quan. His disciplined approach to training made him one of the most dedicated students. As a close student of masters such as Yoshimi Inoue, Han Yanwu, An Jian Qiu and Wang Yanji, he developed a holistic teaching system that combines traditional methods with modern competition experience.
Jacob is a multiple Swedish champion in karate and taiji and has won numerous international titles. His deep understanding of internal and external martial arts makes him a sought-after teacher who not only develops his students technically, but also mentally.
Michael Dubery
Michael was one of the first international students to train full-time for a year with Master An in Dezhou, China (2012-2013) - a childhood dream come true: to study authentic, practical Chinese martial arts directly at the source. Through training in Baji Quan and SanDa, he gained a deep understanding of strength development and recognised the crucial importance of solid fundamentals. After a freestyle wrestling injury, he continued his studies in the An family system with Bagua Zhang, focussing on speed, softness, balance and inner harmony.
As an experienced teacher, Michael brings strong analytical and communication skills to his teaching, combined with a keen eye for detail. He is committed to preserving Master An's martial arts system and teaching methods. He is known for presenting complex content in an understandable and step-by-step manner in suitable exercises and drill forms depending on the level of the students.
Today, Michael lives in the mountains of Bosnia and is starting a new phase of his life there: he is once again fully dedicated to martial arts and building his own Wushu Guan (training hall). He currently offers seasonal and customised opportunities for intensive training with accommodation in the natural surroundings of Biokovina.
