Our Instructor Network
At our school, instructors are more than just skilled martial artists: they are individuals who demonstrate not only proficiency but also a deep commitment to the values of Kungfu and personal integrity. To become an instructor, one must train for a minimum of one year full-time at our school, embodying an exceptional dedication to the school's integrated training program and its principles. Upon successful completion, these individuals are equipped to apply their expertise and embody the school's principles, whether through further personal development, teaching, or sharing the martial arts in their own unique ways.

Michael Dubery - Baji Quan and Bagua Zhang Instructor, Biokovina, Bosnia
Michael was among the first international students to train for 1 year full-time with An Shifu in Dezhou, China (2012–2013), fulfilling a childhood dream to study authentic, practical Chinese martial arts at the source. Studying Baji Quan and San Da established a firm understanding of power generation, and revealed the critical importance of mastering fundamentals. After an injury sustained during freestyle wrestling cross-training, he continued his studies in the An family system with Bagua Zhang, focusing on developing speed, softness, balance, and internal harmony.
As an experienced educator, Michael brings strong analytical and communication skills to his martial arts teaching, along with a keen eye for detail. He is passionate about preserving the nuance of An Shifu’s methods, and is known for breaking down complex material into clear, manageable stages and drills according to each student’s level.
Now settled in the mountains of Bosnia, Michael is entering an exciting new phase: refocusing his life on martial arts and building a formal Wushu Guan (training hall). He currently offers seasonal and personalised opportunities for immersive, live-in training in the natural beauty of Biokovina.
